Athletics achievements and sportshall athletics

SSAA Scottish Schools Track and Indoor Field Championships

The SSAA Scottish Schools Track and Indoor Field Championships took place at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow last week, and our athletes rose superbly to the occasion. Across the two-day event, 19 pupils proudly represented the school, competing with determination, resilience and real team spirit. Many secured places in finals and delivered outstanding personal best performances, an incredible achievement on one of the biggest stages in the schools' athletics calendar. Every competitor gave their absolute best and represented the school with distinction.

The event also brought two brilliant podium moments. Ross produced a superb run to claim third place in the 3,000m for Under 18s, showing huge strength and consistency over the distance. Soon after, Gabi added to the excitement with an exceptional performance in the 1,500m for Under 16s, finishing in a fantastic second place. These are tremendous achievements at national level, and we are immensely proud of both athletes.

Well done to the whole squad for an inspiring couple of days, your hard work and commitment continue to shine.

Sportshall athletics

On Wednesday 28 January, Miss Thompson from Support for Learning and Lauren Williamson from the ISP took a group of S1 to S4 pupils to Perth College to take part in the Sportshall Athletics event as part of Perth and Kinross's Disability Sports events schedule.

The pupils took part a variety of activities such as target throw, high stepper, javelin, standing long jump and a series of team relay races. It was great to see the team cheering each other on and enjoying the inclusive environment. Everyone who took part went home with a participation certificate.
